Organ and Tissue Transplant
Ron began his career as a transplant coordinator in 2012 with OneLegacy, the Southern California Organ Procurement Organization. At OneLegacy Ron began training as a Donor Allocation Coordinator specializing is tissue allocation. In an effort to enhance his understanding of the industry he began cross functional training with the Surgical Recovery Team. The relationships built between the tissue allocation and surgical recovery departments established a level of trust and efficiency of tissue recoveries. By the end of his first year he was proficient in ocular, dermal, and musculoskeletal tissue recovery. Ron prides himself in building relationships among departments to increase productivity and create a strong team of professionals. As a result, Ron was selected for a newly developed position as the Administrative Team Lead to assist with improving relationships between departments that make donation possible. Since mastering the tissue donor allocation position he has moved into the organ allocation department where he was selected as part of a task force charged with developing a system to effectively manage OR scheduling for organ recoveries. His position as project mediator was pivotal in the task force success. Ron enjoys the multifaceted industry that allows him to make a meaningful contribution as well as expand his professional education.
